GUIDELINES FOR USE OF COMPUTER LABS

  • All users of Computer Labs should be aware of the campus IT – Policy. You can view this document at http://intranet.cb.amrita.edu/download/Policy/AmritanetPolicy.pdf

  • The footwear should be left in the racks provided for the same.

  • Entry and exit time should be entered in the register kept at the entrance.

  • Only the books and documents required for your work should be carried inside the Computer Labs.

  • Students must wear their Identity Cards.

  • Care should be taken to ensure proper safety of any printer, monitor or other computer equipments.

  • Food, beverages and other eatables should not be brought inside the Computer Labs.

  • Mobile phones, Walkmans and other personal electronic devices should NOT be brought / used inside the Computer Labs

  • Do not attempt to repair or disassemble any Computer Lab equipments.

  • Students should neither install any hardware such as flash drives, digital cameras, etc into the workstation nor install/run personal applications/games without prior approval.

  • Changing the configuration of your workstation and modifying the system settings should be avoided.

  • Any suspected misuse or malfunctioning of equipment or software should be immediately reported to the Lab Administrator.

  • All students shall login to amritanet.edu Domain. Contact Lab In-charge for initial login details and in case of trouble in accessing the centralized logins. Don't share your User ID / password with anyone.

  • Do not save any of your files and folders in 'Desktop' or 'My Documents'. Save them to the appropriate folders on centralized storage (Y: Drive). Files and folders will be cleared periodically from common areas without prior notice.

  • Transmission or reception of obscene, offensive or discriminatory information shall be treated as a breach of IT-use Policy.

  • Unauthorized sharing of copyrighted works, including music, pictures, movies and other published materials, is a violation of campus IT-use Policy.

  • The intercoms provided in the Computer Labs can be used sparingly and for emergency purpose only, with the permission of the Lab Administrator.

  • Please help to maintain the Computer Labs clean and tidy.

  • Decorum should be observed inside the Computer Lab. Silence is to be maintained to the extent possible to ensure a conducive atmosphere for learning.

  • After completing the work, switch off the monitor and computer with proper shut down procedure. Keep the peripherals in their appropriate position and arrange the chairs properly.
